Antiskalant ;Ön arıtmadan gelen suyun ters ozmoz membranlarına girişinden önce dozlanan bir kimyasaldır.

Kalsiyum (Ca++) , magnezyum (Mg++) ve bikarbonat (HCO3) iyonlarının reaksiyona girmesini engeller ve membranlarda çökelti oluşumunu engeller.


Antiskalant kullanmaması durumunda az çözülen tuzların membran yüzeyinde birikir ve membran yüzeyinde çökelti gözlenir.

En sık rastlanan çökelti türleri ; kalsiyum karbonat (CaCO3) , kalsiyum sülfat (CaSO4),baryum sülfat (BaSO4), stronsiyum sülfat(SrSO4). Zaman zaman silika ve kalsiyum florür(CaF2) çökelmeleride gözlenir.

Bu yüzyılın başlarında filtrasyon minerali olarak kullanılmaya başlanan antrasit kömürü çeşitli aşamalardan geçerek uygun boyut, uniform katsayısı ve sertlikte üretilmektedir.

Açılı şeklinden ötürü, filtre kumu ile karşılaştırıldığında daha az ters yıkama ihtiyacı duyulur.

Ters yıkama debisi de dolayıısyla daha düşüktür.

Oldukça düşük yoğunluğa sahip olması sebebiyle de çok katmanlı filtrelerin en üst katmanı olarak görev yapmaktadır.

UYGULAMA KOŞULLARI

Yatak yüksekliği 60 cm – 76 cm (tek medyalı filtre), 25 – 46 cm (çoklu medyalı filtrelerde) olmalıdır.

Servis debisi 5 gpm/ft2 veya yerel koşullara bağlı olarak daha yüksek olabilir,

ters yıkama debisi 1 ve 1,5 numaralı antrasitte 12 – 25 gpm/ft2, 2 numaralı

antrasitte ise hava ile ters yıkama opsiyonu da ayrıca eklenmelidir.
